HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The bidders were out in force as the building and property of what was once McGraw’s went on the auction block Thursday morning.
The auction also included a large amount of personal property that was sold separately, including speakers, kitchen and bar equipment, along tables and bar stools. Bidding for the property started at $500,000 dollars, but fell to just $50,000 before someone submitted a bid. Once the bidding got going the price increased to a wining bid of $130,000 dollars. With fees and such the final purchase price totaled $143,000. The winning bidder was not disclosed and the winning party was not in a position to disclosed what might be done with the city block size property. The sale must close by July 21 at which time the final buyer will be made public.
McGraw’s started out as the Cowboy Casino in 1984. The club closed for the final time in 2011.
