HUTCHINSON, Kan.— The future look of Main Street from 7th Avenue, north to 30th will available be for public view during a meeting set for Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Kansas Cosmosphere.
The public meeting will be the final one for the Main Street Stakeholders and the preferred concept will be unveiled to the public. The public will gain an overview of the project’s background, issues and opportunities and will be able to provide feedback on alternatives for the Main Street concept design.
Along with Wilson and Company, consultant Ned Barrett will join the consulting team. Barrett is with the Partners for Active Living in Spartanburg, SC and has experience in community engagement, meeting facilitation, and strategic planning.
As a part of Barrett’s time in Hutchinson, he will present at an Active Transportation Breakfast held Friday, from 8:15-9:30 a.m. at Shears Technology Center on the Hutchinson Community College campus. The breakfast is sponsored by HEAL (Health Eating, Active Living) Reno County, with funding from the Kansas Health Foundation’s Healthy Community Initiative Grant.
