HUTCHINSON, Kan. —

KWBW’s (1450 AM/ 98.5 FM) John Brennan sat down with Vietnam Veteran and former HPD Officer Tom Angell Friday morning to discuss his visit to the beaches of Normandy and reflect on the events from D-Day 70 years ago.

"Ruperts" were dummy paratroopers dropped from airplanes as diversions. The mannequin itself stood half the height of the average man, but looked life-sized when falling from the sky. Upon landing, "Ruperts" would set off fireworks to simulate gun fire.
