During the early morning hours of April 7, the Hutchinson Regional Medical Center Waldron Street entrance, located directly to the north of Doctor’s Park and across the street from the Hutchinson Clinic, will be closed for the duration of the Emergency Department expansion project. Early that morning, construction crews will be on site to construct a temporary circular drive adjacent to the south of the Emergency Department entrance.
Also starting that day, emergency vehicles and patients arriving at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center will be directed to enter the hospital campus from the south hospital entrance or the north entrance which is located just south of 23rd and Waldron.
Signage will be in place to direct patients to use one of the two routes in and out of the hospital campus. All patients arriving on the hospital grounds for emergency care will be directed to access the circle drive area and then relocate vehicles to the southwest corner of the main hospital parking lot. Traffic in and out of the ambulance garage will be closed.
Also, on or about April 14, the City of Hutchinson will continue an ongoing project to widen Waldron Street past Doctor’s Park and the Hutchinson Clinic to the south hospital entrance. Additional details on the Waldron Street project will be forthcoming from the city in the next few days.
The Emergency Department expansion project at the hospital remains on schedule for a completion date of December 15, 2014.
