The homeowner discovered him and a deputy quickly took the suspect, 19-year-old Landon Hlavachick, of Pratt into custody. He was booked into the Pratt County Jail for aggravated burglary and criminal trespass.
Following leads from this burglary, sheriff’s officers followed footprints and tire tracks from the burglary 8-miles north of Cullison and located the stolen car that was reported on March 27. The 2005 Lincoln was found approximately 12-miles west and 8-miles north of Pratt.
As sheriff’s officers continued to follow leads they discovered another burglary and notified the owners of a building approximately 8-miles north and 9-miles west of Pratt. Sheriff’s Officers also recovered many items that were stolen while tracking the suspect on foot from one crime scene to another.
They say that officers worked non-stop on these cases for nearly 36-hours. The work involved a lot of back country tracking and following other leads.
These burglaries are still being investigated and further charges or arrests could follow.
