Jacob Henson 2

A 26-year-old Hutchinson man sentenced to prison for 2-years in other cases was in court Thursday afternoon for a possible plea, but then decided against accepting the plea offer from the state.

Jacob Henson is charged in the 2013 case with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana with a prior conviction, possession of oxycodone, possession of a controlled substance with a prior conviction, possession of personal use drug paraphernalia and interference with law enforcement.

Henson was arrested back on October 15, 2013 in the 100 block of West 12th on a warrant for failing to appear on the theft charge. He was apparently uncooperative with law enforcement leading to him being tased. They then allegedly found drugs on his person.

With him not entering the plea, Judge Joe McCarville set a preliminary hearing date of April 24.

In the older cases, Henson entered a guilty plea to aggravated battery after he and another inmate got into fight inside the jail annex back on June 19, 2013. Apparently the fight between the two had to do with issues they had with each other outside the jail. The victim, Joshua Holmes suffered a broken jaw and broken finger as result. He was apparently upset with Holmes for allegedly breaking up his marriage.

He also entered guilty pleas to charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana with a prior conviction, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, namely prescription drugs, both with a prior convictions and possession of drug paraphernalia. All of these crimes occurring back on March 7, 2013.

Judge Tim Chambers gave him the 24-months for count 1, aggravated battery, then ran the other sentences concurrent to that sentence.
